The Batavus Personal Bike
If you’ve been to Amsterdam, you’ll have seen the Batavus Personal Bike which is the rental bike used by Mac Bike Rentals in Holland.
In the UK, our Personal Bike customers have included a number of commercial and government clients including the Royal Air Force. With private customers using the bike for town and city riding.
It’s a strong bike – the strongest bike built by Batavus and capable of carrying weight. If you’re on the heavy side, this bike may be worth a closer look. Originally designed by Batavus as a rental/courtesy bike for Dutch dealers in the Netherlands, it’s popularity grew and consumers love using it.
For the UK market, we spec the Personal Bike with two brakes – front and rear, which are Shimano Rollerbrakes, operated as you would any other bike by using two levers on the handlebars. Mac Rental use the back-pedal braking system.
The Personal Bike is a steel framed bike and is designed as workhorse, with extra-strong spokes, a unisex frame and each bike coming with its own unique frame number built into the frame.
