Do you sell or by used Dutch Bikes?
No, we no longer buy or sell used Dutch bikes neither do we accept part exchanges.
If you’re looking to sell your Dutch bike – in our experience, there’s always a good demand for used Dutch bikes so you should have no problem selling it privately.

Do you ship bikes to the US or anywhere else other than the UK?
No, sorry we only ship Dutch bikes within the UK. The costs and risks of transport damage when shipping elsewhere is far too great.
We’ve got a used/secondhand Dutch Bike and want further information about it – eg, age/valuation etc.
This is the most frequently question we get asked by email. We’re sorry to say that we’re unable to provide any information on used Batavus bikes other than those that have come from our shop. Batavus build an extraordinary amount of bikes every year and have been doing so since 1906. They not only build bikes for their main dealer stock, but they also have build bikes for various ‘buying groups’ around the Netherlands and Europe. It’s impossible for us to provide you with information on them.
What’s wrong with my bike?
Another frequently asked question by email and telephone is – what’s wrong with my bike. It goes along the lines of ‘we’ve got a Batavus bike and it’s not changing gears, any ideas?’
In almost all cases, emails don’t include the bicycle model, type of gears or year of manufacturer, which makes it impossible for us to answer these questions and without physically seeing the bike, it’s impossible to diagnose what the problem is. We always recommend you take if you’ve got maintenance problems, you take it to your local bike shop for them to have a look at it for you.
We also recommend you have a look at the owners section of our website where we have provided a number of how-to maintenance videos, which include adjusting your gears, pumping tyres, removing chain cases and so on.
Can I buy a bike from you under the Government’s Cycle To Work Scheme?
If your employer pays us direct, we can provide a VAT invoice. However, if your employer insists on using a third party agency, eg cyclescheme etc, we regret that we are no longer willing to pay third party commission fees.
