Coastal Cycles is a small, independent cycle shop located in the lovely seaside town of Littlehampton, West Sussex.
We first opened our doors in 2004 in Pier Road, Littlehampton as the first bricks and mortar Dutch Bike Shop. Since Brexit, we no longer import Dutch bikes from the Netherlands owing to the costs and complexities of post-Brexit trading.
Our sales business now concentrates primarily on the sale of Ebikes – from a number of leading UK ebike brands — including Claud Butler, Falcon, Dawes, Wisper and Ebco.
Occasionally, we have used bikes for sale – usually take as part-ex against new ebikes.
Our busy workshop services both ebikes and non-ebikes. We are an authorised BOSCH Service Centre, Yamaha Service Centre and Bafang Service centre.
Servicing and Repairing Dutch Bikes – Hub Geared bikes
We have gained an enviable reputation for servicing and repairing Dutch bikes with many customers travelling some distance to bring their Dutch bikes to us to repair/service. We have extensive experience of working on Shimano Nexus hubs – and can usually assist repairing most issues. Or if this isn’t possible, advising you prior to your spending out on ultimately unsuccessful repairs.
We also sell a range of used bikes and when available, used ebikes.
Stock varies – please check out website (new section will be opened shortly with details of bikes available) for details of the latest stock. We regret that we don’t offer a mail order service for either new or used bikes/accessories.
Test Rides
Must Be booked in advance.
We are always happy to allow customers to test ride both our new and used bikes. ID and a deposit may be required. If you require a cycle helmet, please bring your own. We do not provide cycle helmets for test rides. Test rides are limited to the models we have in store at the time of your visit.
What we don’t do:
- Bike Hire – We stopped renting bikes when we moved to our current premises in 2018
- Escooters – We don’t sell them and we don’t repair them.
- Non-Road Legal Ebikes – We don’t sell them, and we don’t repair them.
- Road Legal Ebikes that have been tampered with – We don’t repair/service them. If you’ve fitted dongles or other non-brand approved software to your ebike – you’re on your own. We ain’t touching it. If you’ve got a Bosch System and you’ve overriden it as soon as we run our Bosch software diagnostic tool over it, it detects that you’ve played with their software system and shuts everything down.
Our previous shop premises, located in Pier Road, Littlehampton. We had many happy years here until Arun District Council & the Environment Agency ‘regenerated’ Pier Road and our landlords sold the buildings to property developers – who offered us a new lease at 4 times what we were paying under our old landlords. We consequently moved shop premises in 2018 to 10 Anchor Springs, Littlehampton where our business is now based. Our old premises has remained vacant since we left it following the council’s and EA’s £35m regeneration spend.
Our current shop premises is located at 10 Anchor Springs, Littlehampton – BN17 6BP. There is a public car park in Anchor Springs, just after our shop premises on the right hand side. We are also just a 5 minute walk from Littlehampton Train Station.
