Cycle Dealers stocking Batavus in the UK
After a successful UK launch of Batavus via our pilot shop and a number of carefully selected retailers, we are now entering phase 2 of our UK Wide Marketing Campaign.
We are now looking to recruit new Cycle Dealers to our growing network of Cycle Dealers stocking Batavus bicycles.
We have also introduced a new initiative where a cycle shop can order in one of our bikes for their customer as a soft way of introducing our brand to their shop without having to commit to initial stock.
Benefit to you as a customer is that you don't pay a Mail Order Carriage fee, currently £37, and your bike is handed over to you through a Cycle Shop. Especially important if you already have a relationship with an existing bike shop.
(Please note that this offer is obviously subject to our approving the cycle shop you suggest and also their agreeing to participate)

Our Soft Start Option
First of all, our primary aim in retailing Batavus is working towards having our quality cycles available only in cycle shops and carefully selected retailers. Consequently, we are not interested in retailers who only want to sell online.
How the soft start option works:
Someone who wants to buy a Batavus Dutch Bicycle browses our website, speaks to our sales staff and is advised on the most suitable model, size and so on.
The customer then chooses his/her local bike shop. Usually our customers already have trading relations with a shop in their locality, but are unable to buy a Batavus from them as they local shop is not already stocking Batavus.
Wherever possible, our aim is to see Batavus sold directly in cycle shops and not via Mail Order. So we prefer to send our bikes direct to cycle Shops as opposed to customer addresses.
So if you want to buy a Batavus Bicycle from your local bike shop, then choose your model from our site, do discuss the options with us first to ensure the bike you're buying is right for you. Then ask your local bike shop to get it in for you.
Provided your bike shop is in agreement, we will send your bike to their shop and they will contact you to arrange collection of your cycle once it is in.
Your preferred cycle dealer will be sold the cycle at our Trade Price as if they were a fully signed up Dealer. Thus giving your dealer an opportunity to see first hand the quality of our cycles, and also decide whether or not they would like to stock them in the future.
The benefit to you as a retail customer is that if you collect your bike from your local cycle dealer, you do not have to pay the £37 Mail Order Carriage.
Please note - That we need to approve the cycle shop, prior to agreeing to appoint them as a stockist. We do not supply multi-retailers, our preferred shops are Independent Cycle Shops who care about customer service and bicycles as much as we do.
