Taking your dog for longer distances by bicycle to your favourite walking area is now possible thanks to DoggyRide Trailers. These cool, super-comfortable dog carrying trailers are a great way of transporting your favourite furry friend without having them stuck in a hot, stuffy car environment.

Whether you want to take your dog on a cycling holiday, or a short trip to the local park, the DoggyRide trailer is ideal.

We've used this trailer and have tested it with our dog, Benny - and are happy to offer any advice or after-sales support to any customer who has purchased doggyride from us. We've kept our prices of Doggyride extremely competitive, but are aware that faceless internet resellers often slash a few quid off our prices to get your business. Of course these companies don't ride bicycles, and don't use Doggyrides, so cannot offer you the advice we can based on practical experience.

Doggy Trailer, an ideal way to take your favourite friends with you when cycling.

We import two versions of this popular trailer to the UK.

1. Original Doggy Ride Trailer, which will pull behind your bicycle.

2. Original Doggy Ride Trailer with Doggy Ride Stroller, which you can use as a stroller for your dog - for those customer who don't want to use Doggy Ride as a dog trailer. For those customers who want to use both - the Stroller and the trailer - you can upgrade your Doggie Ride Trailer to include the stroller kit. This costs an additional £41.99 (some pictures of the stolller are now available further down this page)

 The Doggy Trailer has been designed in the Netherlands for use worldwide.

Previously, we've tried other maker's dog trailers and although we liked them, our dogs, didn't.

The main benefits we see with this trailer is that your dog can enjoy an all-round view, which is obviously very important to ensure they enjoy a comfortable, safe ride. Another feature is that the trailer's mesh windows contineously allows air to flow around the trailer - a must to ensure your dog's comfort.

Other features include the roof opens, the floor is made from MDF and the trailer folds easily away so can be stored in a relatively small space, boot of your car or caravan.

We also like that you can buy additional accessories for your trailer which will include things like a second towing hitch - most important if you're travelling with another and you'd both like to take turns to pull the trailer on your individual bicycles. You can also buy a super foam mat which sits inside the trailer and can be used outside for the dog to sit on when not in their trailer. The foam mat comes with a washable cover.

Another accessory you could consider is the park stand which is fitted to the trailer's underneath to ensure it stays level and doesn't pull your bike over when your dog hops in and out when you're off your bike.

Doggy Ride Stroller

Pictured above the Doggy Ride Trailer with the stroller kit attached. The stroller kit includes the following additional items:

1. Front wheel (which attaches into the coupling where the trailer towing arm would usually go where you towing behind your bicycle.

2. Rear handelbar so you can push the trailer along

3. Park Brake - as you can see in the above picture - the park brake is useful when stopped.

Please note - the park stand (which you can see folded up underneath the front of the trailer) is not supplied with the trailer, but can be ordered as an optional extra for an additional £28.95. The benefit of the park stand is for those who want to use the trailer as a kennel when not connected to the bike. The park stand keeps the trailer from tipping up/down when left free standing. Similar to the steadies used on caravans! (if you're just going to pull doggy along his trailer, then you won't really benefit from this additional feature.

 

Above picture shows the rear of Doggy Ride - which also has a second entrance/exit for your dog. which means your dog can climb in at the rear when the bike is attached to your bike or your using the stroller kit.

Some Questions we regularly get asked:

How can my dog get in or out if the bike is either in stroller kit form or attached to the trailer?

There are two entrances/exits - one at the front and one at the rear. So when either being towed or attached to the stoller kit, if your dog has mobility problems they can easily access the rear door of the trailer. Most dogs will have no problems in hopping in the front, but obviously if your dog is slow on his/her feet, the advantage to this trailer is they can climb in through the back door.

Does it fold down?

Yes. It folds down for easy storage either at home or in your car/caravan/boat. The wheels are quick release and will clip off. And the walls then (once you unclick the inner bar) will allows the walls to folder over flat on each other and then you have a flat pack trailer.

What weight can it carry?

Up to 50kgs.

Can it carry two dogs together?

Yes. But becareful that you stay within the weight capacity allowed - 50kg. You also need to be assured that your two dogs will fit comfortably together.
