Sustrans & Bike Belles

Sustrans are the UK's leading Cycling (and walking) charity and work tirelessly to promote cycling and walking as a healthy, alternative to car use.

If you want to see more cycle routes opened up, or get involved in clearing and tidying up existing routes in your area, Sustrans can help.

This year, we're proud to work with Sustrans and their latest venture - Bike Belles - which has been set up to encourage and help more ladies to take up cycling. Our involvement includes providing bicycles for raffles, for test riding and also sponsoring the UK's first Cycle Routes Guidebook, which will be published as joint venture with the AA and available to buy in September 2009.

How We Drive

How We Drive, is Tom Vanderbilt's Web-blog on Driving.

An excellent, informative blog by the bestselling author of 'why we drive the way we do.'

Also looks at how our culture is being ever-increasingly gripped by fear and how selling fear really has become big business.

Down the Road

A personal favourite of mine, this website belongs two remarkable Amercians, Tim and Cindie, who quite literally sold up in 2002 to cycle around the world and enjoy life on a bicycle.

Since starting they've penned two best selling books - which are available either via their website or Amazon.

I've had a number of email exchanges with Tim and these guys really do win my respect and admiration. They're website is huge - quite literally - there are lots of sections to this site including some great information on cycle touring/cycle camping and all you need to know about taking your bike on planes.

London Cycling Campaign

I like this group having met one of the original founders of the campaign when we exhibited at Cycle Show 08 in Earl's Court London. There's lots of great information on their website for anyone either living in, or visiting London whose interested in cycling.

Company of Cyclists.

In 2008, we exhibited at Nottingham's Get Cycling Show - which was organised by the company of cyclists. This group really do great work for promoting cycling. Their whole ethos, enthusiasm and energy is fantastic. They're also a great bunch of people who have converted everything from a lounge sofa to a garden gate into a bicycle!

They were great fun at Nottingham - sadly this year (09) they didn't re-organise the Nottingham show, which was a real shame. We've had a number of emails from customers who visited us last year at Nottingham wanting to know why the show wasn't going ahead this year - we're not sure, it's a shame, but there you go!.
