It's a super quality built bicycle that offers you unbeatable value for a bicycle of this specification. When your ride Entrada you can instantly feel the build quality and we challenge anyone to find a better 7-speed hub geared bike at this price range with the same specifications.

It's an excellent all-round bicycle and the one I now ride for everyday riding and also touring. When I first test rode this bicycle, I wanted to keep riding and riding.

The Alamo Spirit

It's a common misconception that Batavus only build hub geared bicycles. Batavus  build a range of quality, derailleur bicycles with the Alamo being the introductory model.

A super bike which comes with all sorts of useful features including 24 speed Shimano Altus gears, rear touring rack with front lug positions on the front forks should you at some time in the future wish to fit front touring racks. Quick release wheels front and rear, battery lighting front and rear and an adjustable handlebar mechanism

A bike that's at home touring as it is commuting. Offering super value for money, again we challenge you to find a similar bike with all the additions that Alamo has at a similar price, and come with a genuine Dutch Bike pedigree.

Ideal for those living in hilly areas where a hub geared bike might be limiting, or those wanting all the benefits of a Dutch bike with more gears.

Features include:

  • 24 speed Shimano Altus
  • V brakes with Shimano Power Modulator on the front brakes
  • Quick release front and rear wheels
  • battery lights front and rear
  • gel comfy saddle
  • rear carrier, ideal for touring
  • partially enclosed chain guard
  • Rear touring carrier
  • webbing straps for rear carrier
  • Adjustable handlebar system (all you need is an allen key to instantly change your riding position)
  • Under saddle bag
  • Bell
  • Integral lock
  • Rear dress guards and partially enclosed chainguard
Price £525

available in step-through as above or a step over as below.

This is a super bicycle for commuting and touring.

The front forks come with bosses so you can attach a front pannier rack if required.

The Alamo Deluxe

If you'd like the same bike as above but with the added benefit of:

  • Front suspension
  • Suspension seat post
  • easy adjust handlebar riding system
Again the extras on the Deluxe are a persona choice and having front suspension doesn't necessarily mean the bike is superior to one that doesn't have it. For example, if you're planning to use your Alamo for touring and you choose the Deluxe model with the suspension front forks then this means that you won't be able to affix front pannier racks to your bike as the suspended forks don't have the bosses. You also don't want to have your front panniers going up and down like a lift as you ride.

On the other hand if you suffer from a sore back, or have problems with your wrists then the benefit of having a front suspension system is that it can take the hardness of out of riding and give your wrists a nice comfy ride.

As I say, it's all personal choice. Some people love front suspension and others don't feel they need it. Either way it's up to you.

Price for the Alamo Deluxe is £612

The Jakima X-light

The Jakima X-light is a super touring or fast commuting bike. Complete with everything you need to take you in comfort, style and at speed (if you so desire) to your destination. With the added benefit of having an onboard easy adjust front handlebar mechanism where at the flick of a switch you can instantly change your riding position to cope with  changing climate conditions such as strong headwinds and so on.

This bike not only  has head turning good looks, but also rides like a dream. Carbon front and rear forks make it  lighter  than  other bikes, ideal if you're after a lightweight all-round Dutch bike.

You can see pictures of the Jakima X light and Kayenta X Light on the X-light touring page.
