All Bobike Seats are manufactured in the Netherlands and meet EU Safety requirements and are approved according to the EN 14344 safety norm.
 
 
With bobike - you have a range of options for carrying children on your bicycle.
 
The Bobike Mini
 
The Bobike Mini front seat is ideal for carrying children aged 9 months to 3 years, or 9 to 15 kilos on the front of your bicycle. The benefits of this means that younger children get to enjoy a more stimulating view, while feeling safer as the design makes it feel like your cuddling them as you ride.
 
The Bobike Mini Seat will fit most bicycle that have a 'quill stem.' 
 
While bobike do offer an additional ATB fit kit to fit other bikes that do not have a quill stem, we have found that this isn't suitable for most UK bikes, so accordingly, we only recommend Bobike mini to be fitted to bikes that have a quill stem.
 
You'll need at least 1.5" of available quill stem available where the Bobike Mini supplied bracket will fit into.
 
The above is a picture of a 'quill stem' here you can see the stem comes out of the down tube and this is where you can affix the Bobike Mini Bracket which is supplied.
 
If you don't have a quill stem, then we're unable to help further.

Front Windscreen - An optional front windscreen is also available and this gives improved shelter from weather and climate for your child. The windscreen can only be fitted  to bikes that use the standard non-atb fit kit (quill stem bikes) and not with bikes that use the ATB Bracket.
 
The two pictures above demonstrate the two types of fitting.
 
The first shows a bicycle with a quill stem and you can see the windscreen is fitted.
 
The second above, shows a ATB bike with the ATB fit kit attached where the windscreen would be unsuitable.

In the above picture (thanks to Mr Vonk and his adorable children) you can see a Batavus Dutch Bike with a front Bobike Mini Seat and a rear Bobike Maxi Seat. Mr Vonk is riding his wife's bicycle home from it's annual service.
 
You can also see that at the rear of this bike, the Dutch panniers fit neatly under the rear bobike seat thus allowing you to carry children and cargo. That's just one benefit of buying a Dutch Bike, in that these bicycles are designed for practical cycling.  

 

Bobike Mini front handlebar seat, which allows a younger child to enjoy riding on the front of the bike. The Bobike Mini will take children up to and including 15kgs.

The circular logo was designed by Harry, aged 7 who won our 2007 'design us a logo competition' which we ran for our local school. Harry won a Batavus Personal bike for himself and £250 to help build Elm Grove Infants their outdoor garden.

This really is a super child seat and has been designed, as with all Bobike seats, with the child's comfort and safety as a priority.

Fitting the Bobike Maxi City

The Bobike Maxi City has a 3 point mounting system for attaching to the bicycle frame, which can be adjusted in lenght to fit virtually any bicycle.

The Bobike Junior

The Bobike Junior has been designed to cater for older/heavier children and thus is suitable for children aged 5 to 10 years and/or weighing 20 to 35 kilos.

As this seat has been designed for older children, it looses the enclosed design and favours a more open seat for larger children. When not in use, the seat can either be taken off, or simply folded flat.

A look at the BOBIKE Brackets for the Bobike Mini

 

The picture above shows the Bobike 'clickandgo' bracket.
 
This is the standard Bobike fitting supplied with the bobike mini. It has four docking points - two for the prongs for the mini seat to fit into, and two for the optional extra front windscreen.
 
As you can see it clamps itself around your quill stem, where you need approx 1.5 inches of clear space for it to fit.
 
This bracket remains on your bike, and the seat can then be easily fitted and removed as required.

Picture above shows our showroom test bike fully fitted with a Bobike front seat and protective windshield. Front seat attached to the front stem with the optional front windscreen. Benefit of windscreen is it keeps wind and rain and also dust and flies from hitting your child's face.

View from the front seat looking down. As you can see the child's hands can rest/grip the front handlebars if needed. The arrangement creates a sense of security for the child, especially as the parent's hands are essentially cradling the child as you ride along.

View of the seat rests, which are made from high quality, long-life, durable with easy-adjust foot rests. The simple, but very effective design along the down bar allows you to adjust the foot rest up and down to achieve an easier fit. Once you're happy with the position, you can then screw the cup securely into place without worrying that it might come undone.

The seats we supply at the Littlehampton Dutch Bike Co LTD are the Bobike Maxi, which is the rear seat, which can take up to 25kgs (displayed above). We also supply the Bobike Maxi Plus, which gives a higher back and wheelguards. The front seat is the Bobike Mini and this carries a maximum weight of 15kgs in the front suspension.
